Each week of Spring Training Vocal Camp for High School Singers offers exciting, fun-filled experiences to help young singers hone their vocal, acting, and movement skills. Students at Spring Training learn about the life of a professional singer and what to expect from a career in the arts through daily private voice lessons and individual attention in master classes. They will also work directly with guest lecturers and presenters from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ elite team of artists and teachers. The experience will culminate in recital performances and a fully-staged opera scene.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

  • Daily private voice lessons and vocal coaching
  • Classes in movement, acting, dance, and fight choreography
  • Classes in opera set design and makeup
  • Conversations with OTSL artists and music staff
  • Afternoon mini-recitals
  • An opera scene rehearsal and performance
  • Attending a live Opera Theatre performance of Mozart’s comedy The Marriage of Figaro.

Camp sessions are held from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily at the Community Music School on the campus of Webster University.
