The Sheldon Arts Foundation is pleased to be able to offer professional development to educators. Sharilyn Telaar will present a hands-on and engaging workshop surrounding the topic of teaching students with dyslexia. The workshop will cover a brief history of literacy, the definition of dyslexia and myths that surround the topic, and how dyslexics function in music. Sharilyn will share her own pedagogical strategies and methods
to aid in teaching note reading to dyslexic students. Teachers will be engaged in activities to practice the presented material and will be sent home with resources to
take back to the classroom.
